In the formation of each nation as a nation, its literature has a special place. Oral folk literature is at the root of this literature. This literature, having an ancient history compared to written literature, also lives as a product of national folk thinking. In each of its genres, the worldview, conscience, and morality of a common people's society are reflected in an artistic form. It is not accidental that when every nation examines its past, it turns to its literature, mainly oral folk literature, and looks for itself there. One of the most important tasks of oral literature is to act as a protector of the language of the people it belongs to. The epic "Kitabi-Dade Gorgud" known to us about the art of gopuz-ozan is a reference source in our literature. This epic is one of the first epics in which verse and prose are combined. The epic "Kitabi-Dade Gorgud" is not only a great monument of oral folk literature of Azerbaijan, but also a great monument in all-Turkish literature, as well as a national affirmation of the Turkish people. The image of Dede Gorgud given in the saga is the touchstone of Turkish national identity.
In the article, I want to touch on a painful point, which is that there is no artistic sample belonging to the works of Ozan Ashik in the 7th-14th centuries, except for the name of someone named Ashiq Ali, whom certain folklorists attribute to the 13th-14th centuries. After Deda Gorgud, this name is followed by the name and creativity of Sayyid Huseyn, who went down in history under the name of Misgin Abdal at the beginning of the 15th century. In this article, we have talked about certain stages in the creation and development of ashuck art, and we have also expressed our thoughts about ashiks who were killed as a result of assassination by Armenians in different periods. We have not talked much about the special role of the schools of literary love art in the development of this art. We thought that it would be more appropriate to write a separate article about each of them.
