GENDER ISSUES IN THE EPIC "KITABI-DADE GORGUD"

Abstract

In the research plan of literary and artistic works of gender aspects, the famous epic of the Oghuz Turks, "The Epic of Grandfather Gorgud", is of great interest. In the saga, the images of women, their status in the family and society occupy one of the main places.
Women are one of the most active driving forces of the events described here. When talk- ing about the female characters in the epic, first of all, it is necessary to talk about the general posi- tion of women in the work, the honor of motherhood, their bravery in battle, the fact that they are not inferior to men in riding horses and shooting arrows, and high human characteristics such as pure love, family honor and loyalty.
In addition, the relationship between husband and wife is one of the important issues in the Oguz family. In such relationships, the sacrifice shown by female heroes is given priority. At the same time, we see how women treat their husbands with respect, show great love and trust in them in different parts of the epic.
