BELIEFS IN KARABAKH

Abstract

The article talks about the beliefs used in the vernacular in the Karabakh region of Azerbai-jan. The materials collected from Karabagh speakers for research were included in the article and specific texts were included in the analysis. Beliefs are grouped by topic, with some similar texts compared. The meanings of many beliefs are explained. These beliefs were also compared with similar variants collected from other regions when they were included in the analysis. The main characteristics of those beliefs were investigated and the reasons that created these characteristics were tried to be discovered.
The research shows that, as in other regions of Azerbaijan, the beliefs that exist among the people in the Karabakh region and are not so much related to religion, but rather based on mythical thinking, have been tested for a long time and are widely spread among the people. Every faith has ancient historical roots in its origin.
