Nizami was a poet attached to his nationaty, homeland, clan with all his soul. In his poem "Leyli and Majnun", Nizami expressed his clear national-ethnic, political-ideological approach to the problem of Turkishness. He showed how high his thoughts about Turkish language identity, Turkish national identity, and Turkish literary-aesthetic identity were for him. For this reason, it is possible to hear the influences of the Turkish folklore tradition throughout the entire "Khamsa" work, especially in the "Leyli and Majnun" poem. The characteristics of Azerbaijani love stories were used in the masnavi. The poet gave ample space to benefit from the traditions of the plot and image in the love stories. Like the foundation of the love stories, the plot of the "Leyli-Majnun" story is also connected with mythology, which is the foundation of human thought, the initial be- ginning.
The story of "Leyli and Majnun" was native to Eastern peoples from a mythical point of view, and it became a pan-Eastern plot, engraved in the memories of different peoples.
