    Abstract

The fulcrums of ideas such as integration and fusion of cultures in the globalized world give us reason to say once again that in order to reveal the meaning of the process of national selfawareness and self-return, it is one of the main tasks to get to the essence of folklore and to determine the time and meaning of the initial mythological-ritual ideas in folk literature.
It is of great importance to study the folklore of the Turks, who have spread to different regions of the world for a certain socio-political reason, specifically the Turkmen settled in the north of Iraq, because folklore is the past, present and future of every nation, a mirror of its outlook. Iraqi-Turkmen folklore has also included very rich rituals and reflected the ideas and
beliefs of the most ancient times in literary and artistic examples.
People who believed in the existence of forces stronger than themselves hoped that they
would protect themselves with the magic of words in the situation they encountered, and with that
they resorted to applause and cursing.
The study of the genres and beliefs related to the ceremony in the lyrical and epic type gives the basis for determining the function of these genres. Here, the presence of sayings, oaths, applause and curses, numerous beliefs in manias, hoyrats, proverbs and proverbs, legends and tales, anecdotes, and mythical stories allows us to open the ritual-mythological source of the
    mentioned initial ideas and genres.
