Abstract

In the article several problems like how the situation of the ethnic minorities living in
Armenia has changed over the years after Armenia announced the restoration of state
independence, the reasons for emigration of the non-Armenian population and the measures taken
by the Armenian goverment for this are reflected. Pressures against ethnic minorities in Armenia
are increasing day by day. The purpose of non-implementation of the laws adopted to improve the
living standards of national minorities and ethnic groups is to accelerate their emigration from
the country and further reduce their numbers. In the writing process of the article, content analysis
and comparative analysis were carried out, materials from the Armenian mass media were
collected, studied, systematized and analyzed. Issues related to the reasons for the decline of
national minorities living in Armenia and the level of their living conditions were analyzed.
As a result of the research, it is clear that after 1991, the few remaining ethnic groups and
minorities in Armenia were under serious pressure. The socio-economic development of the
settlements where they live is deliberately delayed. The severe socio-economic situation, the policy of discrimination against Jews at the state level caused the migration of Jews, Yezidis and Aysors
(Assyrian people) from the country
