ACTUAL PROBLEMS OF CAUCASUS STUDIES

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the factors that make it necessary to study the problems of the Caucasus region. As it is known, the Caucasus, one of the most geopolitically and geoeconomically important regions of the world and has always been in the interest of great powers. After the collapse of the USSR and the emergence of newly independent states, interest to the Caucasus region has increased in both neighboring and distant countries, and relevant research centers have been established. The study of regional problems is one of the tasks facing the science of international relations and regional studies in the modern
Republic of Azerbaijan. For this purpose, the Institute of the Caucasus Studies established at ANAS has successfully worked in the study of regional problems in a short period of time.
