Abstract

The terrorist activities of Dashnaktsutyun party, that were created in the late 19th century and the main goal was to build the “Great Armenia”, have led to a bloody pages in the history of Ottoman, Azerbaijan and Turkustan. Mehmet Said Ordubadi, Mir Mohsun Navvab, Mirza Rahim  Fana, Ahmad  bey Aghaoghlu, who witnessed the mass killing of Muslims, the looting of their properties in 1905-1906 are the thinkers with great services in the establishment of the historical chronicle of that period. Although these bloody happenings in the history of Azerbaijan emerged in the form of historical feature essays, in this regard, the gap is observed on the literary pages of Azerbaijani literature.

In 1905, Mirza Alakbar Sabir wrote his poem “To Armenian and Muslim citizens” and condemned the massacre. In the Soviet era, Jafar Jabbarli and Suleyman Sani Akhundov’s plays were reflected in the events of 1905-1906. Jafar Jabbarli wrote that Tsarist Russia was the cause of this situation in the drama “In the 1905”, and Suleyman Sani Akhundov described the cause of conflict and massacres in the Caucasus in the “Evil” play. Due to the fact that both authors faced the obstacle of the Soviet regime, they tried to reflect the historical facts with the language of bad characters.
