Abstract

It is very difficult to translate Nizami’s works into Slavic languages. They relate primarily to the transmission of various stylistic figures such as metaphors, hyperboles, allusions, repetitions, and others. In the second half of the XX century all the poems of Nizami were translated into Russian. The principles of the approach to the translation of Nizami’s poems were formulated to achieve ideological and artistic adequacy. At the same time, the translators sought not only to retell the content of the poems, but also to preserve the poet’s style. Nizami’s poems have been translated into Polish in fragments. The best translations were made by orientalist B. Mayevskaya. Both prose and poetic translations belong to her pen.
