The place of Soviet-era Azerbaijani literature in National Leader Haydar Aliyev’s Literary Strategy

Abstract

The article analyzes some important aspects of the literary strategy of the National Leader Haydar Aliyev. It clarifies the attitude toward Soviet-era Azerbaijani literature, which has become an object of big controversy. National Leader Haydar Aliyev’s views on the need to approach the literature of this period with the principle of historicity are taken as a methodological starting point. Haydar Aliyev's assessment of the role Soviet-era literature played and could have played in the formation of the thought of national independence of the Azerbaijani people is interpreted as a factor defining in general the modernity of this period’s literature.
