The personality and life of the author and attitude towards him first of all come into prominence when examining autobiographical works. Literary criticism and public opinion determine the value of an author’s work by investigating the conclusions formed about the writer himself and his creativity. This kind of works reflect the psychological, sociological, cultural and aesthetic views of the author. The author who creates an autobiographical character must deeply understand his or her own character, behavior, and psychological state, and must have a high level of observation skills. Such works reflect not only the life of an individual, but also the landscape of a certain era. Their most important difference from autobiographies is that the author presents real events and people he knows in a fictional form, filtered through his imagination.
