Our ancient historical-ethnographic region Zangazur in the Azerbaijani novel

Abstract

 Every person's memory, in modern terms, is their hard drive, their lifelong companion. It seems to us that we own our memory, but on the contrary, memory owns us. Sometimes memory is also characterized as a memoir. In psychology, memory is a field that studies the process of a person's perception, storage, and subsequent recall of information. From this point of view, memory plays the role of a source. It encodes memories separately in the brain. A person visits the “memory library” at any moment, especially a creative person. Because “memory is the raw material for a creative person.” In the creativity of Eyyub Abasov the most reliable, most unforgettable, bitter and sweet are the memories ,  “raw material” , the remembrance and understanding of past impressions. In the writer’s memory, along with historical events and massacres, the flora and fauna of his homeland, its natural beauties, natural-geographical location, climatic conditions, mountain ranges, impassable deep gorges are forever engraved and preserved as the most valuable memories. The historical novel “Zangezur” is a reflection of what the writer could not erase from his memory.  In the article, we will try to make an excursion to the ancient Oghuz homeland Zangezur in A. Abasov’s novel “Zangezur”, which plays an important role in the study of our history and the formation of the artistic and aesthetic education of the younger generation, and to look at its lifestyle, occupations, and ethnography as a whole.
