    Abstract

The history of works written about testimony is ancient. The tragedy that took place in Karbala on the 10th of Muharram, 61st Hijri, 680 AD, led to the development of the maqtal genre in the literature of Turkic-speaking peoples as well as Arabic and Persian literature, and the emergence of valuable works on this topic. Initially contained in small sections in historical books, collections of hadiths, and other sources, this information was later extensively interpreted artistically and scientifically throughout the plot lines of entire books. The nohas of Azerbaijani poets such as Mirza Muhammad Taghi Gumri (1819-1891) “Kenzulacaib”, “Kulliyyat”), Haji Abulhasan Raji (1831-1876) “Divan”), Maraghayi Molla Huseyn Dakhil (XIX) “Divan”), Mirza Mehdi Naji (1805-1882) “Divan”), etc., reflecting the horrors of the Karbala disaster, are an artistic reflection of religious and spiritual suffering and deeds. While the works of the mentioned authors are examples of literature written in verse in various volumes, the literary-historical works of authors such as Muhammad Fuzuli, Abbasgulu Agha Bakikhanov, Mir Mohsun Navvab, Abdulkarim Agha Badkubi, written in the maqtal genre, preserve all the features of the more fundamental and classical tradition and the same they are examples of creativity that reflect the conditions of the time when they were written are discussed in this article.
