The article provides detailed information about the work “The Events of 1905” by Mirza Rahim Fana, a prominent figure of the Karabakh literary environment. It discusses the manuscript version of the work, its content, and the parts that have survived to the present day. It is noted that Mirza Rahim Fana personally witnessed the events he describes in the work and conveys the tragedies with deep sorrow. The article emphasizes that, as in other regions of Azerbaijan, horrifying massacres were committed against the Muslim population in Karabakh – particularly in the city of Shusha and around the Askeran Fortress – amid the Armenian-Azerbaijani national conflict instigated by Tsarist Russia to suppress uprisings and opposition. These events resulted in significant material damage and the destruction of dozens of Azerbaijani villages. Based on factual evidence, it is stated that the losses among the Muslim population were greater due to the support given to Armenians by local Tsarist officials.
