The article talks about a little-studied poet of the 18th century Azerbaijani literature. It is noted that, like M.P.Vagif, M.V.Vidadi and other prominent Azerbaijani poets, Agha Masih Shirvani also wrote his works mainly in his native language. He wrote his poems in both syllabic and aruz meter. The poet, who is close to the style of ashug poetry in his syllabic poems, or rather in his goshmas, remained faithful to the traditions of M.Fuzuli in his works written in the classical style. Only a small part of his works have survived to this day. A representative of an ancient generation, the poet was mentioned to one degree or another by A.Bakikhanov, M.F.Akhundzadeh, M.Y.Garabaghi, A.Berje, F.Kocharli, S.Mumtaz, H.Arasli and others in the 19th-20th centuries, revealing some examples of his works and presenting them to the scientific and literary community. The poet, who mostly glorified pure, sincere love in his lyrical poems, also wrote works on social issues when appropriate. He also has historical poems that resonate with the real history of Azerbaijan, which are also discussed in the article
