    Abstract

In prose literature, autobiographism refers to the reflection of certain facts, events, emotions, and experiences from the writer’s own life within a literary work. Rather than presenting a comprehensive account of the author’s own life story, this approach emphasizes the integration of personal feelings and thoughts into the fictional narrative. It represents a method by which the writer transforms lived reality into artistic fiction. Autobiographism is not limited to the presentation of biographical facts; it also conveys the author’s worldview, psychological state, and the socio-economic situation of the period and society in which he lived. Azerbaijani literature is rich in autobiographical elements. At times, writers incorporate aspects of their own lives into their works to enhance artistic expression, lend authenticity to scenes, and create a more convincing narrative. This ensures the seem more real and original to the reader. The article explores the emergence and development of the autobiographism genre in Azerbaijani prose, examining the historical, social, and psychological factors that have influenced the formation of autobiographical elements.
