    Abstract

The article in question analyzes the literary and cultural environment of Azerbaijan during the Republic. It is shown here that this period of literature constitutes the awakening and formation stage of the literary and cultural environment of Azerbaijan. The article also notes that the opening of national schools, libraries, museums, writing of national textbooks, and the work done as a whole could not bypass the literary and artistic process.  The article examines the literary issues of the period in scientific, literary-critical articles, journalistic writings, reviews, and conferences of prominent intellectuals, especially Muhammad Amin Rasulzadeh, Seyid Huseyn Sadig (Kazimoglu), Mirza Bala Muhammadzadeh, Abdul Vahab Muhammadzadeh, Uzeyir bey Hajibeyli, Adil khan Ziyadkhan, Ali Abbas Muznib, Abdulla Shaig, Yusif Vazir Chamanzaminli, Yusif Gasimov, Farhad Agazadeh, and other prominent intellectuals published in the press of the Republic, partially clarifying obscure and controversial points, touching upon serious scientific-theoretical problems, presenting considerations related to the history of literature, evaluating the artistic-aesthetic merits of individual poetry examples, prose, and drama works, and generally bringing to the agenda problematic literary topics of the period.
