The issues of beginning of Azerbaijani literature

Abstract

 In the article is studied the issues of beginning of literature at the stage of formation of Azerbaijani literary studies. It is noted that at the beginning of the 20th century the issues of beginning of literature was one of the main topics of discussion in Azerbaijani historiography. In their articles and studies, researchers such as F.Kocherli, Y.Vazirov, A.Abid, I.Hikmet, M.F.Koprulu, A.Nazim, M.Guliyev, A.Musakhanli, J.Afandizade, M.K.Alakbarli have expressed their attitudes towards the question of where the literary thought of the people begins. The question of where to begin with literature was first encountered at the beginning of the 20th century. One of the main issues was to discover the beginning of Azerbaijani literature, as well as to study what to name it. According to the research, there were different opinions in Azerbaijani literary studies about where to start with national literature. There were several reasons for this diversity of views. First of all, our history of literature had not yet been sufficiently researched and a scientific imagination had not been created. The second reason was due to the scientific approach.
