It is noted that the tradition and innovation in the poetry follow each other and the path of poetic evolution of each period and stage reflects a new poetic thought. These two tendencies kept alive this poetic tradition as an inseparable process in 20th century poetry. This tendency, which continued dialectically, became actual during 60-70s of last century, namely at the time when Z.Yagub started his poetic creativity. The tradition of Zalimkhan Yagub’s creativity of the first period includes the more external symptoms of folk poetic creation by the power of individual talent. The poet was more interested in the folk poetry style during this period, tried to preserve this tradition in the means of artistic description and expression, and rhymes. In the next stage of his creativity he tended to Yunus Emre, Mowlana Jelaleddin Rumi and Sufi thought; his poetic thought and language were enriched and he himself created a poetic tradition becoming the praiser of the spiritual existence of the people. Most of the poetic forms Z.Yagub used are poems written in the style of folk poetry, goshma with syllable weight, gerayli and tejnis. Z.Yagub was not a prisoner of existing tradition, he used what he needed and created new poetic texts by his poetic talent. Z.Yagub used all three branches of tradition (folklore, classical poetry, contemporary poetry) skillfully during his creativity.
