Abstract

Turkomans who migrated from Central Asia and Azerbaijan to the territory of Iraq in different periods of history created a rich literary and cultural heritage. Both their oral and written literatures form an integral part of all-Turkic literature. The article contains the thoughts and ideas of Ata Tarzibashi, who conducts research on the history, language, literature, and folklore of Iraqi Turkoman, which are important for Turkology. It is clear from Ata Tarzibashi's research that he is deeply familiar with the history, folklore, literature, and language characteristics of not only the Turkomans, but also other Turkic peoples. Therefore, the study of Ata Tarzibashi's research in this direction is of great importance for the development of modern Turkology. Ata Tarzibashi "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud", Muhammad Fuzuli, Alishir Navai, Mevlana Jalaladdin Rumi, Farabi, "Divani lughat-it Turk" etc. He presented his views on the personalities and valuable works that played an important role in the history of the Turkish people to the world of science in various articles and books. Taking all this into account, Ata Tarzibashi can be considered one of the outstanding Turkologists of the 20th century.
