Abstract

The standard-bearer of the history of independence in Azerbaijan, M.A.Rasulzade made an exceptional contribution to the formation and development of national literary criticism. His selfless activity in this field became more comprehensive, consistent and serious after the establishment of the Soviet regime in Azerbaijan and attempts of Bolshevik ideology to apply fictional and false Soviet literary method and conception to literary and cultural life. In the 20s of XX century great literary critic created a valuable legacy dedicated to the relation of national literary-theoretical, artistic-aesthetics thoughts between socio-political events and creative problems and determination of scientific methodological boundaries of literature and distinguished by its peculiar language, analysis, critical style and scientific classification skill.
M.A.Rasulzade’s articles devoted to Azerbaijani poetry of 1920s, to its creators such as Huseyn Javid, Ahmad Javad, Gultekin and creativity of other poets of independence and freedom are relevant and important today as the golden pages of the literary heritage. In the article M.A.Rasulzade’s research about the Azerbaijani poetry of 1920s is extensively analyzed in terms of today's requirements and evaluated.
