WORLD ACADEMIES OF SCIENCES AND AZERBAIJAN NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES

Abstract

In this article for the first time was presented information about the various forms of academies established onallcontinents, from Plato's Academy, founded in Greece in the 4th century BC, to the 21st century. Was given alsoclassification of world academies of sciences by their various fields of activity.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli presented the foundation and development of Azerbaijan National Academy ofSciences against the backdrop of world academies and presented its achievements.
