    Abstract

In 1979, after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran and the overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty (1925-1979), the foreign policy of official Tehran underwent dramatic changes, which also manifested themselves in relation to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Thus, under the influence of the ideas of the Islamic Revolution, Tehran refused from many years of cooperation with Israel, and the liberation of Palestine was declared by the ideologists of the revolution, in particular by its leader Imam Khomeini, one of the priorities of the foreign policy of the Islamic republic. In addition, Israel was declared an enemy of Iran and the entire Muslim world, and the fight against it was elevated to the level of a holy war. From 1979 to this day, Iran has not limited its actions in this matter to slogans alone. He, represented by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization, actively promotes the formation and strengthening of various paramilitary groups that have chosen the armed path of struggle against Israel until the final liberation of Palestine.
Such a sensitive and principled position of Iran on the Palestinian issue is due to two main factors - political ideological and military. Iran views the activity and decisive actions in this direction as a way to strengthen its authority in the entire Islamic world, taking into account the sensitivity of the issue for all Muslims of the world. On the other hand, strong positions in Palestine will allow Iran, in the event of an open military conflict with Israel, to turn this space into one of the fronts of the struggle against the Jewish state. The tense situation that has developed in recent years in the Middle East, as well as the constant tension in relations between Israel and Iran, suggest that the question of Palestine in the near future will remain one of the priorities for Tehran.
