Abstract

New N- (Arylaminomethyl) -phthalimides have been synthesized and their antioxidant properties in the composition of synthetic lubricating oil have been studied. The structure of the obtained compounds was confirmed by IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis.
N- (Arylaminomethyl) -phthalimides were investigated as additives to synthetic lubricating oils in accordance with GOST 23797-79. It has been shown that the synthesized inhibitors noticeably delay the oxidation of ester oils at 225°C and are superior in efficiency to the phenyl-α-naphthylamine inhibitor.
