    Abstract

After the restoration of state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia, special attention was paid to the establishment of cooperation in the field of education, as well as all other fields. From the very beginning of the establishment of diplomatic relations as two independent states, discussions were held around cooperation in the field of education, actions were taken to create a legal framework, strengthen and develop relations.
The legal basis of relations in the field of education and science and technology is the Agreement on Strengthening Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Security signed in 1993, the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Georgia on Cultural, Scientific and Humanitarian Relations, the Agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia Agreement on strengthening friendship, cooperation and mutual security signed in 1996, Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Georgia on scientific and technical cooperation, cooperation in the field of education, cooperation in the field of certification of highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel signed in 1997, Agreement on cooperation in the field of education between the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia signed in 2004.
The relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia very successfully developed in the field of education, and this process is still in progress. Mutual visits gave its benefits and fruitful cooperation was achieved. Significant work has been done to solve the problems in Azerbaijani-language schools in Georgia, and positive results have been achieved as a result of measures taken to raise the level of education, which is very important for the integration of the Azerbaijani population into the socio-political life of Georgia. Mutual student exchange was also achieved. Annual increase is observed in this process.

Despite the successes, some problems of Azerbaijani-language schools still persist. The decrease in the number of these schools, the higher age of the teaching staff, lack of young staff and so on. are problematic aspects of this issue. To some extent, it is possible to eliminate the problems by involving young resources who studied in Georgia and have a high level of state language skills as well as the Azerbaijani language. Also, the effective use of investments, the mutual exchange of theoretical and practical knowledge, the expansion of student exchange will create conditions for further strengthening and development of relations.
