DETERMINATION OF THORIUM(IV) IN NATURAL WATERS AFTER PRECONCENTRATION WITH CHELATEFORMING SORBENTS

Abstract

As a result of modification of a copolymer of maleic anhydride with styrene chelating sorbents containing p- and m-amino phenole fragment have been synthesized. Thorium(IV) sorption conditions by these sorbents have been investigated. It has been shown that maximum sorption ability towards Th(IV) are observed at pH 4. Effect of various acids on thorium desorption from sorbent has been investigated. The technique developed for thorium determination by its concentrating was applied for Mo ion determine in sea water.
